Hi, I am trying to remove the gearbox of my beosound 9000 mk2 and am following the service manual for mk3. It says “carry out the points 1-5” which I have done. However it looks like the 4th screw is located underneath the top plate. Has anyone been able to remove the gearbox without removing the top plate?

I have removed the gearbox without removing the top plate. I don't recall how exactly, so I can't say if it was easy or not. I acquired a MK3 that had been dropped and shattered the glass. I had to carry out points 1-5, remove the bottom cover, remove the cd mechanism, and remove the gearbox in order to clean out all of the shards of glass and get it working again. I did not remove the top plate.

The gear box had a few shards of glass stuck between the teeth of the gears and had to be partially disassembled to be thoroughly cleaned.

Im sorry I don't recall exactly how I removed it but I don't recall it being unusually difficult.

Thanks for the reply Bill. I found the 4th screw under some wires and it is indeed reachable without taking off the front plate.
