Hello there,

As B&O rookie ( only own E8 and H9i), i was wondering if going for the Beolab 9 a good idea or not? I would appreciate comments and experience regarding the Lab 9.

Is it a good departure point for owning B&O Speakers?

Yes, yes yes, I have had mine for nearly 6 years and I still absolutely love them. They are incredible value full range B&O speakers, with a natural integrated sound. I also love the design (though I know some people don't), they are form following function, creating unique unobtrusive sculptures in your living room.

Very interesting. due to lockdown in my country, i'm unable to do demo's I was hoping that forum members could assist with video teasers to give me somewhat idea how the speakers sound like. I'd highly appreciate comments and experience had with the units before making a purchase please.

Regards,

Hi,

I totally agree with @luthier.

Beolab 9 are great speakers. I bought mine 3 Months ago as original packaged exhibitor model (from 2006, but speakes will not get worse from time :) ) from a Bang&Olufsen Dealer with full warranty.
To get "new" BeoLab 9 is of course now already nearly inpossible.

I really love the design and it has 100% WAF. She calls them "gnomes".

Since I have now the correct cables (Chinch to PowerLink), I use it with my Lenovo P51 Notebook and sometimes with a Microsoft Surface Pro Tablet. However I am already looking forward to use it later in the new living room with a good pre-Amplifier.

I will use it there also later in a surround setup and can hopefully do a nice bass management.
They have a very precise bass, but maybe a little bit less than you expect.

Here I have a Video about my BeoLab 9:

I hope you enjoy.

Best regards,
Gerald

I started with a pair of Beolab 3's and then upgraded to a pair of Beolab 9's and they are in my opinion outstanding and I'd recommend them to anyone considering them. My wife also approves of their very minimalistic presence (they're quite short and have a small footprint).

Personally I equalize the treble down just a little bit but I also have a "glass palace" condo filled with hard surfaces to reflect from.

I integrate them with a Marantz receiver using its pre-outs in a stereo setup.
