Hello,

There maybe some interest here in potentially improving streaming and audio quality through B&O or some audio systems.

My aim was to pipe thru MQA and high quality music files/sources and streaming thru the home. My collections were becoming stale.

Like many here, I found standard streaming to the Beovisions or the Chromecast, Apple TV etc offered poor quality sound. My choice was to connect a DAC (Converts Digital audio to Analog) to Line in level inputs in music systems, but which one?

So eventually.

I installed a Raspberry Pi 4 with a HiFiBerry DAC2 HD Hat attached. Connected to a BS9000 AUX port. Masterlink and Netlink are thru the house. The physical size being about 2 decks of cards.

The Raspberry Pi runs RoPieeeXL as a Roon endpoint (Roon delivers sound to an endpoint, eg Roon compatible products). Roon Core, the brains behind (runs on my Mac) and finds my Music collection as well as linking with Tidal and other services seamlessly. With, I may add, an astonishingly simple to use interface. Plus Roon finds the Avant and Horizon, plus Chromecasts Apple TV's etc as there own endpoints, being for me, an added bonus.

The overall result is a low cost impressive audio improvement through the BS9000 AUX port piped around the house. All at a very low cost.

When compared to my Chromecast Audio or other DAC's that ran on the BS9000 AUX input prior. The DAC 2HD's audio range, performance, sibilance etc is also much improved from the direct Tidal to TV links, being mindful that Roon helps.

This maybe complex to some, simple to others. In any case.... If you are interested feel free to ask questions.

Cheers, Beoaus.
