It reminds me of someone who veneered RL speakers, very nice too, with white cloth.
A long time ago I saw images of B&O (red typenumber?) prototypes of BeoMaster 5500 with veneer on the sides. Cannot find that thread unfortunately. But they looked awesome as well!

All this reminds me a funny little story.
When I was young I was interest in photography and above all in photography gear.At that time Canon released à "ground breaking" middle range camera: it was the EOS 50, eye driven focus, lots of focus targets and whatever else I can't remember. But the most marketed feature was it's silver finish. Camera that have always been silver with black leatherette had long been replaced with more modern look in satin black finish making them all dark. Now that camera was very desirable in it's vintage silver finish and everybody (including me) wanted it around his neck.
After a short time, Canon released a very special new desirable edition of it's EOS 50 in black finish… At additional cost!
How cool....erm warm is that! Glad you didn't settle with D-C-Fix!

Maybe it is what we call a "claustra" here in France: like a wooden fence to separate space in a room
Yes wood work is very rewarding like any craftsmanship: someone once told me – it works or it don't, not like your (service) job where anyone has an educated opinion and can tell if it good or not (to his tastes) – very clever!

Hi Orava, these Penta's are not mine, I just saw the add. So I cannot tell how the veneer was bonded.
I would not be surprised if they are made by Leslie (old forummember). Maybe you can find him on another medium?

Look closely at the pictures - looks like solid wood all the way through - not just veneer glued on.
Well, I have never seen BL4000 in the flesh, but somehow covering must stick on the body of speaker. Right?
Ok, thank you. I have had little problems when glueing veneer to metal. Last time I use bostic A3 to (wet)glue veneer to plastic.
