Hello everyone and forgive me if I make a request for a topic that has probably already been discussed.

I am a new Italian user and I am not very familiar with the forum

I am looking for a B&O remote control that is compatible with my beosond4 and with SkyQ.

Thanks to those who can help me

Hi, welcome to the forum.

You are unlikely to find a remote that is compatible with your Beosound 4 AND SkyQ unless you look at something like a Logitech Universal Remote.

You could consider a Beo5 or Beo6 remote but you will need to program it yourself. You will need to have access to the Configuration Tool (CT) and access to SkyQ codes. Reasearch on this site will help you find the CT and maybe the SkyQ codes.

I bought a Systemline ARC7 (LRN7) Learning remote from eBay, they are discontinued but availble. They can learn from B&O remotes and send B&O codes as well as learn from standard remotes. You can also program them on your Windows XP 32bit PC. They are made of aluminium and look very B&O in style.

Do you already have a Beo4 with your Beosound 4?

Thanks for your quick reply.

I don't have any B&O remote but as mentioned, I'd like to get one that can work with SkyQ.

I would rather take it B&O as I am trying to get myself an all B&O implant but I don't understand what the CT configuration tool is

So it would seem that the beo5 and 6 are also usable with the Beosond 4 ??

It's correct?

thanks

best regards

This is difficult to explain if you are new to B&O. There is a way you can do what you want but not easy or cheap!

B&O do not make a universal remote that will control SkyQ or any other item that is not B&O.If you want to control SkyQ with a B&O remote you have to buy other equipment to make it happen.

Newer B&O TVs have a system where you use a B&O remote (such as Beo4) but the TV translates B&O codes from the Beo4 into a code SkyQ understands and sends it via an IR emitter to the SkyQ box. But you need a B&O TV to do this and assumes the SkyQ box is standard IR controlled (not bluetooth or something). This is called PUC control and most people rely on that.

Normally the Beosound 4 (BS4) will have a Beo4 Remote. A Beo 5 or Beo6 will control the BS4, but when the remotes were new, they were programmed by the dealer for each seperate buyer for their specific setup. If you buy one of these now, you will have to program it yourself for your setup unless you can find a B&O dealer who still does this. To program this for your BS4 you will need a copy of the CT configurationTtool. This can be hard to find but people on here are very helpful. If all you want to do is control the BS4 then a Beo4 is what you need.

You can make the Beo5/6 default to a standard setup that will control your BS4 but it is better to program it fully. The Beo5/6 may also be able to be programmed to control your SkyQ box but you have to find someone who has done this alrady and they can send you the fle to upload to your Beo5/6. This can take a lot of patience and time and lots of searching on this website.

Or you can buy a Beo4 remote and buy a Lintronnic Box. this turns the Beo4 remote into a Universal Remote than can control almost any IR device. But this is not cheap. I have one and it also means you have to program it yourself, but it is much easier than doing a Beo5/6 and has the advantage that if SkyQ is not there already in the setup, you can point your SkyQ remote at the box and learn each button. You can then also learn the buttons for your Tv and control everything from a Beo4.

I hope this makes sense.
