Annoyingly, one of my Beogram lid broke, just wherev it screws to the hinge box. Very annoying as was on my Beogram 4001 - so very rare!
However I have found someone making new lids which come with the lettering for 4000, 4002, 4004 and 6000 models. Have just received mine and is good thick material - he can supply both the blue black version for the later decks or the brown tinted version for the 4000 and early 4002 models. They come with a aluminium trim with the correct font and spacing. The only difference is a lack of the rib on the inside at the back but the top has the recess forn the aluminium trim. Very impressed and will post pictures once fitted.
I did fix the old one but disintegrated the aluminium trim so a new one is probably best!
His name is Barrie and he can be reached at musicismoving(at)hotmail.com if anyone is interested. Price is about £180 - obviously they are new and no scratches!

Looking forward to seeing them. I have seen a lot of cases where the hinges are broken. Polishing scratches out of the lid is also a long and tedious process. That Beogram 400x part is one that would be welcome. -sonavor
A couple of pictures - iPhone quality but I am really very impressed with the lid. I should point out that I insisted on paying full price and have no monetary link with this chap - though he seems very pleasant!
And an open one!
The lids come with the two screw holes drilled in the sides - the trim is loose and sticks over the screws so they are invisible. You will find there are spacers which need replacing when you remove the old lid. Very easy to fit and looks brand new. My old one had split though the screw holes and although I stuck it together, it was bound to go again. Almost perfect though if persnickety you may note a lack of a rib inside the lid at the back. Confess I had not noticed prior to Barrie pointing this out!
This is the blue black version seen in later decks - he can also supplied the smoked brown version seen on the 4000 and early 4002. He will also provide the appropriate metal trim with the correct lettering.
It does look quite nice.
