In my head, I know what I want to happen but is it possible?

In my living room I have an LG OLED TV, Beosystem 3 (with the DVI sockets), Beosystem 9000, DVD 2, 4 x Beolab 3's and a Masterlink system with speakers throughout the rest of the house. The LG OLED TV,DVD 2 and Beosystem 3 replaced my trusty old Beocenter 1. I got the Beosystem 3 to replace the Beocenter 1 because of my Masterlink setup throughout the rest of the house.

At the moment, we watch the Beosystem 3 tuner on the TV so we can have the sound through the 4 Beolab 3's. We haven’t been too bothered about HD picture quality. With the recent changes to the Freeview channels here in UK,  I can no longer get quite a few channels on Beosystem 3 plus if I play my Amazon music (FireTV) via the Beosystem 3, there is a delay in all of the Masterlinked rooms which I never had with my Beocenter 1.

What I now want to do is view the TV (internal tuner) and hear the TV through the Beosystem 3 and use my Beo 4 to control volume plus be able to listen to my FireTV throughout the house with no delay. So the questions are :-

  1. How do I connect the TV to the Beosystem so I can hear the TV sound through my Beolab 3's and control volume with my Beo4?

  2. How can I listen to my FireTV (music) throughout the house with no delay? (my Beocenter 1 had no delay from the FireTV in the Masterlink rooms).

  3. Whilst I'm happy to use the TV remote and Beo4 to begin with, I have a Beo 6 and can programme it to assist in control of the setup in the future.

Thanks in advance

I connect my Apple TV and PlayStation to my LG C8 and then use optical out to connect to BS3. You also need an adapter to convert the optical toslink (the square one) to SPDIF (RCA) in. I cannot get LG to output audio through HDMI :( I use a Logitech harmony to control everything and I am very happy with the result.

I am in the same boat until B&O line up will offer something to have both a projector and a screen (hopefully).

I have a BS3 MK1 and replaced my BV4-50 with a LG C9 65" during the move to the new house. The BS3 is still stored somewhere in the moving house chaos, but in the meantime I got a core which I connected to my Beolab 5 (digital & power link). Connected the LG to the optical in of the Core, works, but enormes delay (lip-sync) which I could not solve yet.

So my plan is to connect the LG via Digital in to the BS3, get all speakers routed to the BS3 (BL5, BL 7.4, BL3) either connect the Core to one of the line ins of the BS3 or connect it to the BL5 digital in (had the same with a Sonos connect before).

As I have a M5 in the kitchen nearby, currently there is absolutely no delay in NL Multiroom audio with the Core/BL5 and the M5. The sound is amazing how the entire room is filled with music. Hope to get the same with the BS3 in the mix, but I guess the delay topic will be a problem...

That sounds like what I'm after. Once the cables are connected how do you set up the BS3 to output the sound. ie, what buttons would I push on the Beo4?

In the setup manual, under connection, I use

1) AV1

2) Source TV

3) Sound input SPDIF

make sure your SPDIF cable is plugged into the AV1 set.

Beoremote select TV then should work.

Hello all,

could you please elaborate a bit on your setup? I am on the same boat as well with the projector and screen B&O product but I will not wait for ever so I am thinking about alternatives. I have a question: you can not use one of the pucs to control the LG?

I never get to update my BS3 for LG, and my Logitech control everything fine.

Wonder if you could help

I have the BS3 MK1 (DVBT) & the BV4-50", it's all on the STB remote wall bracket with the BeoLab 7.2 all I want to do is to change/upgrade the screen/TV part of the setup, the LG55"GX OLED TV looks like a possible option as the size fits the width of the BL 7.2 almost perfectly also as it is used in the Eclipse I wondered if it could be more compatible with BS3, I would alternatively go for any other 55" OLED TV ! obviously the best on the market to replace the BV4, I would have no issues with adapting anything to the STB Wall bracket

I also have running in my setup the following:  DVD2, Overture, Humax Freesat, and Speakers  BL8000s, BL6000s plus BL2

All are operated by the Beo5 Remote

Everything is good and works fine but I an intrigued to know if the "TV" part could be updated

Thanks for any input, in advance

Hi

I have the BS3 with BV4-50, could I change the BV4 for the LG OLED GX55 and have it programmed into my Beo5 remote

Or would it all work using the setup manual as you point out along with both the Beo5 & LG remotes

All help appreciated
