I saw the latest Bang & Olufsen Commercial and thought it would be fun to pull their chain.

So I used 30 minutes last night to do a parody of their new Connected Speakers commercial and called it the BeoLight Level worlds most expensive light control if you have BeoLink.

Meet the BeoLight Level for BeoLink Users

Here you can see the original Bang & Olufsen Commercial: https://youtu.be/SmAt6yP8S8o Hope you'll find this as funny as I do - no harm intended. All rights to sound and music to Bang & Olufsen

LOL very good indeed! I do like your Shape with the lights waking up in the cabinets slightly delayed after the main room lights. Very nice touch!

B&O products are V1-32, BS2, H95, E8 and an Essence remote.
11-46 now replaced with Sony A90J 65”, Sony HT-A9, Sony UBP-X800M2 and Sony SRS-NS7.

Thanks - that is acutally done in the BeoLink Gateway - but it was triggered by the My Buttons on the BeoSound Level

Are those BL4000 being refurbished like the Beogram to be also part of the connected experience ? Is there a new Stage with PL connectors in the pipeline? Stay tuned for future announcements LOL

Brilliant! Are you running the forthcoming NL software update on the level for the BLGW to see it?

I love the essence remote on the wall.. Are you using it as a music controller or as a macro trigger on the gateway? I have a table top version connected on BT to my essence mk2 (for music control) but appears to go to sleep ignoring the first press if not used for a while. New batteries makes no difference. I'd love to have more through the house working as light switches to my BLGW, but having to wake it first makes it a no-go. Perhaps IR mode is more reliable? Cheers, Rob.

And its a very good light control if you have a smarthome and uses the my buttons with GVA commands - as in this video.

But maybe its a quite expensive Light Controller?

Hi EBNROB

No the new software for the BeoSound Level isnt out yet, so it is not integrated with my BeoLink Gateway - The my buttons on the BS Level is stored as GVA commands as is "Turn on light in livingroom" and then it sends the command to the Philips Hue Gateway -> then the BLGW picks up that the light over the diningroom is on and triggers a command in the back to light up the cabinets. (makes sense?)

I have exactly the same experience since I purchased an Essence remote for a bit of fun. It doesn't seem to stay awake and goes to sleep really quickly. I bought it to control my BeoSound 2 which is downstairs in the living room. The Essence is at the top of the stairs by the light switch. Is this how it is supposed to work? Surely not as it makes it a pretty pointless controller? I have also tried changing the batteries to no avail? Any help from more experienced users on the Essence operation would be appreciated. Can you stop it from going to sleep for example?

Whoa that's nifty! I have to say the idea of triggering google voice commands from the buttons is smart. Can the 'My buttons' be set to other commands that are non-google voice or is the whole Level system currently reliant on google services?

Cheers.

I believe this is "as designed".  It seems fairly aggressive in going to sleep to save battery life.  Since it uses bluetooth, it needs to re-establish a connection every time it wakes up, and if it didn't go to sleep, it would eat batteries fairly quickly.  I'm not sure how the BeoRemote One works around this because I don't experience the same delay, but whatever...

I find that if I first twiddle the volume slightly, it wakes up and then I don't have any missed commands.

Question on the stored mybutton commands to trigger a GVA command. Is that same procedure as here with Level also already possible on the Halo?

With other words could i now already use a halo button  to trigger a Hue command through Google Home protocol? And if so can one button on halj combine light and music source command?

I believe this is possible, provided you have one of two setups:

1) You have a GVA-B&O product (BS1/2 Gen2, Balance, A9 Mk4).

2) You have integrated a BLI or BLGW into Google Home, and have Halo-compatible products
