I bought a 4500CD off ebay - it was advertised as not working. It basically powered and the lid and everything worked but the disc would not spin. I tried the common fix on replacing the cap, but that didn't work. So I decided to customize the player but removing the cd player unit and replaced it with a 7" amazon fire tablet. Was actually quite easy as it fit quite nice. I had to cut the bezel opening but I cut it where the indent is so it actually looks stock - and the opening is perfect to fit the tablet. I also found a 5DVC source on the left of the unit and hardwired the power of the tablet to this - I then feed a audio RCA left and right cable out of the back (same place the current din output wire is) and wired it to my 2400 reciever (which is also plugged to my B&O phono and my B&O tape - I also have the B&O switch thingy, so the CD player (ah tablet player) and tape are connected and each works depending on the setting of the switch. Here are some pics. It is actually quite awesome as the tablet has alexa, so I can just talk to it and it plays what I want.
