I'm a bit of a novice with the 5500, which I just bought complete; Beocord 5500, Beogram 5500, CD50, Beomaster5500 and MCP 5500.
I'm sure I have all components connected properly as I can control them perfectly with the MCP, including a Bluetooth receiver in the AUX din port, and I get output from them all, which sounds good. I have also changed the batteries in the MCP, which were from 2012, so the display is not blinking anymore.
Now the issue. I get no output from the tuner section, not even white noise. Coincidentally, after fumbling through the manual to figure out how to actually tune a station (more complicated than the NATOPS manuals from my old jet in the Navy), the Beomaster doesn't seem to like my inputs. I can't seem to manually or scan-input stations. When I try to input a 3 digit FM station using the GOTO function, the MCP displays the first two digits I enter but then clears and shows the last. It never formats it like a complete radio station (e.g. FM 94.7). The Beomaster will respond to requests to change from FM to AM and back, but it will not output a station to the speakers. I do have the 300Ohm FM antenna installed.
Could it simply be that the tuner section is fried?
Thank you for any advice or suggestions.
