Hi,

I changed the architecture of my setup and had to add new zones and remove old ones on the Zones screen of 6.84 CT.

First I just made the changes but noticed that the old zones are "re-created" once I connect my remotes to the PC:

Beo6 on a 64 Bits Win10 PC (Beo6 updated  to last firmware and 64 bits driver installed),

Beo5 on a virtual machine running 32 bits XP-SP3.

So I made a new configuration from scratch and again the old zones came back once I placed the remote on the dock.

I suspect the previous configuration to be uploaded on dock-attachment and bring some mess in the new one as I new and useless buttons are added.

So I would like to turn back the remotes to factory default but don't know how to do.

I tried soft reset and hard reset as described by Keith but the configuration is not erased.

Any idea?

Kind regards,

Yann.

Hi Yann,

I don't think you can reset either the Beo5 or Beo6 to “Factory” settings, although they do have a simple “Factory” configuration built in. It won’t be much use to you unless you have a very simple setup. To see it press “Red Dot” button and “Center” button. Press “Config” on screen and choose “Default”

Are you sure you are trying to download (write) the correct configuration? When you put the remote on the dock connected to the PC it defaults to the serial number of the remote and you may be using the old configuration each time.

I call each new configuration by the date I make it, so if I made a new one today I would call it 26032021. To make a configuration from scratch, on Welcome screen of CT type in your preferred number in the “serial number” box and press “Create New” button. Make a very simple configuration to test. I choose a Beovision, Beosystem 9000 and 4 speakers in one room. Save this and then download to the Beo6. If this works then delete that Serial Number and start again and create your full configuration.

If it does not work you may have a problem with the connections between the remote and PC.

Make sure the battery is 100% charged when you try to download.

When you are in the tool there is a box to change towards the bottom.
