Isn’t that a question only you self can answer?

Depending if you want to use GVA, a simple Y/N will do..

I personally do not want any google devices in my home. There are GVA products in the B&O range that need a google account to set it up properly, not sure for the BS2. If you do not mind Google to ears-drop you in your home, just take a GVA version.

BV Harmony 65 / Eclipse 55 / BL 50 / 19 / 18 / BS 2 all brass

BV Horizon 48 / V1 40 / BL 17 / Beoplay S3 all black

V1 / BL 3 / BS Essence MKII / Beoplay A3 all white

BS Moment / BS 3000 / BS 3200 / BL 400 all silver

Headphones / bluetooth speakers / BLC NL-ML / BLGateway

I know…B&O virus has grown on me !

One of the best products I have ever bought from B&O. Sounds is spectacular and fills a large room, let alone a small one like mine. Buy it.

B&O products are V1-32, BS2, H95, E8 and an Essence remote.
11-46 now replaced with Sony A90J 65”, Sony HT-A9, Sony UBP-X800M2 and Sony SRS-NS7.

The Beosound 2 sounds really nice and warm but very different compared to the Stage. The Stage has a cleaner, deeper and much punchier base, however, the sound is very much directed towards the area in front of it, which makes sense for a soundbar. The Beosound 2 sounds softer and more neutral, it better "disappears in the background". The Beosound 2 spreads the sound much better through the room, but has virtually no stereo separation. I think both speakers would complement each other very well if they are in the same room. The bronze tone on the BS2 is magnificent in real life, it's awesome how it reflects light and changes depending on the surrounding light.

Another happy BeoSound 2 user here. I agree completely with the previous comment. I’d describe the sound as neutral but not sterile. It’s also sounds full and projects very well.

Good Evening,

I have a preference for the BS2 but also thought about the stage that would additionally be used with another TV, give they both offer streaming, i thought i might have the best of both worlds.

Anyway I have seen the BS2 heavily discounted so i might gte it!

And you started this thread with the question if you should get a BS2 with GVA...

I own both. Other way around! BeoSound 2 has a much cleaner sound. Very well balanced. I wouldn't use a Stage for music. BeoSound 2 every time.

My BeoSound 2 is also better than my Balance (still in the box since the move!) and definitely better than my Edge (very odd sound). BeoSound 1 is ok, but nothing special, whilst my Level comes across as a mini-Stage for me. Same kind of one-directional sound. I use the Level a lot for portability though and would be my recommendation as it's incredibly useful to be able to pick up and move to another room or on to my terrace!

I didn't say the Stage is cleaner, it does have a deeper and more refined bass, but I agree that overall the Beosoud 2 sound is more crisp. In general for music the Beosound 2 is better, for movies the Stage, which makes sense because that is exactly what they are designed for. If you can only choose one I think the Stage does better for music than the BS2 for movies (even though that depends on what music you listen to and what movies you watch). The BS2 is just an extremely desirable beautiful package and I do adore how it sounds a lot. I also prefer it over the A9, while the A9 is much more powerful, the BS2 is more pleasing. I guess it might be due to the acoustic lens.

I think the BeoSound has deeper bass, if set to 'free' and sat on the right kind of flooring - try a wooden floor, for example. It has more of an impact than the Stage for music, for me.

BeoSound 2 is a better speaker than the Stage for music, but the Stage has a 'wider' sound and more suited to movie audio where the sound is designed to be 'separated'.

Placement and room properties definitely have some impact. Will do some further testing. I typically test with Massive Attack's Angel or Nick Caves' White Elephant, for both songs the base line is more clear and separated on the Stage compared to BS2 and also A9 in my experience. But again, overall I agree with you that the BS2 is the better speaker for music.

I think the strength of the BS 2 is how good it looks and for ambient music. It is also quite versatile in that you can move it around. However, to me the alternatives to the BS2 would be the Level or Balance. Back in the day I had picked the BS1 over the BS2 because I felt the battery was more important since I use that speaker outdoors. Later, I picked a Balance over the BS 2 because it fit better with our dining room decor.

My point is that it depends on your purpose. The Stage is however, designed to be a HT set up, the BS2 is more for ambient music. Like others have said, the bass on the Stage is incredible.
