Hi,

following setup:

BM4500 - AUX and PL connected to 1611 adapter - masterlink cable to BL Wirekess 1 (transmitter) - BL 1 (reciever) -masterlink cabel to BL3500 (MK2)

problem: the BL3500 doesn't work. The BL Wireless reciever stays in standby (permanent red LED) and isn't wake up from switching on the BL3500

tested:

- direct connection between 1611 and BL3500 (without the BL wireless) is working fine!

- both BL wireless got factory reset, after this they are fresh connected and the LED is green for some seconds, the the BL wireless modules are going in the standby mode and the LED is permanent red

Questions:

- What can i do? :-)

I found this post from Keith Saunders:

Let me give you an overview of Beolab 3500 and Beolink Wireless.

First the Beolab 3500 has two variations:-

  1. LCS9000 later to become the Beolab 3500 Mark I which has MCL (Master Control Link) and ML (Masterlink) but NOT Powerlink and has a latest software version of 2.1. You can see the FAQ HERE on how to upgrade to version 2.1 software. The LCS9000 and the Beolab 3500 Mark I CANNOT be used with the Beolink Wireless
  2. Beolab 3500 Mark II was introduced to be linked with the Beolink Wireless, but initially could only be used via the Powerlink, but subsequently was able to be used in a fully Masterlink configuration subject to some product restrictions. The latest version of the software in the Beolab 3500 is version 3.1

The Beolink Wireless requires version 2.0 or above for full Masterlink capability and the latest version is version 2.1

Which means if it is a Beolab 3500 Mark I  it will not work unless you update the software.

- What is the function of the Powerlink plug at the BL3500?

- How can i check the software version of the BL wireless?

- How can i update the software version from the BL wireless, if it is necesssary?

Thanks in forward!

Kind regards!

Michael

Michael,

I can confirm that a BeoLab 3500 Mark 1 cannot be connected to Wireless 1

Also a Beolab 3500 Mark 1 cannot be made into a Mark 2 version.

To check the software version of your Mark 2 BeoLab 3500 with the Beolab 3500 in standby, using the Beolink 1000, press MENU, then 0, then 0, then PLAY. The software version will be displayed, if you use the up arrow it will then show A xxxxx where the value is audio hours x10 in use,
then next up arrow will show B xxxxx the same for Video and the next mark C xxxxx will show the standby time.

If your Beolab 3500 Mark 2 has software version 3.1, then the Master Control Link functionality has been replaced by Power Link functionality.

The Power Link functionality is limited to work only with the Wireless 1.

BeoLab 3500 Mark 2 in a setup with Wireless 1 requires an IR eye. There is reduced close-up operation and a separate IR eye must be used in connection with Wireless 1.

The Master Link functionality remains unchanged.

Regards Keith....

Have you set the correct option settings on the BL3500. You might need to use LINK to activate the BL3500.
