I was adjusting some settings in a Halo and saw that the BeoSystem 4 is now available as a controllable device. The Halo can start video sources as well as audio sources -- including the sources of the integrated Moment. On the B&O's website, the BeoSystem 4 is still not shown as a supported device.
I really hope that support gets added for the NL/ML Converter. This would bring support to all of our legacy products, too.
There is still the bug for B&O to fix in that all sources are shown even if the sources have been removed on the BeoSystem 4. E.g., I have homemedia and QPlay set as unshown on my BeoSystem 4. Yet, they still appear on the Halo. I suspect this is an issue on the B&O app.
Still, it's great that the Halo that I have on the side table in the living room can now be used to control the TV -- especially the usefulness of the volume control!
Thanks beojeff
That sounds promising.

Razlaw:Thanks for the info. I checked my Halo and the V1 now also works with it.
That's great! I'm curious: Is your Halo also showing BeoVision sources that you have hidden? I'm wondering if removing my BeoSystem 4 from the app and re-adding it might help.

Razlaw:Sources do turn on, but can not change tracks on CD, Deezer and one or two others I tried.
I'm able to move through tracks in Deezer.
I've seen similar issues on the B&O app not supporting basic beolink functions with the Nl/MLConverter. For example, it should be expected that we can move through CD tracks but can't. I often feel like the programmers just don't even care about beolink.
P.S. I also get artist and song names not only in Deezer but also in TuneIn.

While I don't expect much for video source functions, there is one simple function that would have been very useful: pause/play control.
I know the Halo can control e.g. a Beosound 9000 through the core but can it control a Beosound 9000 directly?
As the Halo can control the BeoSystem 4 & V1... Anyone else have any experiences with other B&O TVs? BV14?
Karel.
It doesn’t have IR so no it can’t.
1990: It doesn’t have IR so no it can’t.
Are you sure?
The BSys4/V1 is controlled via ir….and - more important - over the network.
And this is the way the Halo works as well…..so!
P.S. Edited - since I forgot 'important'

The BSys4/V1 is controlled via ir….and - more over the network.
The control via the Halo is over the network and not by IR. A BeoSound 9000 that's merely connected via line-in to a Core would not actually be controlled. The only way to get direct control over legacy ML devices would be via an NL/ML Converter -- if that converter could someday be supported by the Halo.
If a BeoSound 9000 is connected to an NL/ML Converter and connected as a primary or secondary linked device to a Halo-supported device such as a Core, control of the BeoSound 9000 is possible via control of the Core -- even though the NL/ML Converter is not yet directly supported.
Since the control of the BeoSystem 4 is via the NL network, there is full two-way communication with the Halo. All sources of the BeoSystem 4 appear as available on the Halo interface. The Halo display will automatically show which source of the BeoSystem 4 is playing -- even if the source change was not made on the Halo.
....sure, beojeff - but the question there was, whether it can control e.g. a BV14.
I do not see why not!
But I am sure this will soon be comfirmed (or not) by a BV14/Halo owner.

Ah. There was some confusing over a couple of different discussions going on.
The BV14 is NL compatible so.. maybe some hope that it will get supported.. Fingers crossed..

I checked and found that there has been no recent update to the software of the Beosystem 4. The last update was in 2017. This gives hope that maybe the NL/ML Converter could be supported without needing an update.
