Hi. I've got a TX2 where the record weight detector mechanism in the center of the platter is misbehaving. At the beginning of the day, when I first operate the turntable, I have to press the play button 3 or 4 times before the weight detector lifts to verify a record is present and whether it's a 33 or 45 and then instructs the tonearm to move. Thereafter, as long as not to much time passes before the next record is played, the weight detector functions properly. However, the next morning, I have the same problem: I have to press PLAY (or TURN) several times before the system responds and the weight detector functions properly.
Thoughts? Solutions? Is this a lubrication issue, perhaps? All help appreciated!
