Hi,

I have liberated a Beomaster 5000 from grandparents loft which proably needs some servicing at some point but atleast seems to be working. After reading some posts decided to buy a set of Beovox s45-2 Speakers to go with it.

However on delivery the woofer on one is not working. I've read a few posts about magnet coming loose and locking the cone. However my cone moves freely. What would be the next thing to look at?

Thanks

Jack

Turns out it was the magnet. It had actually completely Fallen off the back hence why it hadn't seized the coil/cone. There appears to be some scraping and damage to the voice coil. Is there any way I can test to see if this is okay before I embark on the repair? Also what do I need to test it if so.

Thanks
