Dear All,

Would anyone be kind enough to help me? I am starting the transition from ML to NL & purchased the MLC converter.

I have connected the MLC directly to my Mac desktop via Ethernet. I type 169.254.11.22 into a browser & get the message 'Safari can't open the page because the server stopped responding'.

I have tried using the B&O app to add a new device, the MLC shows up as 'nearby' but I get the message 'could not find the product' when I try to select.

Could anyone give me any advice to get started please?

Thanks in advance,

Julian

Hi Julian,

Sorry to hear you aren't having a lot of luck with your ML/NL Converter. It could be that someone gave it a static IP address before or it's not seeing DHCP properly.

I'm assuming this converter is 'new to you' but secondhand? You might find this document useful that is floating around online BLC_NL-ML Installation Guide Ver. 1.2.pdf I might be able to send it to you on email if you can't find it.

I think if you don't care for the configuration that will currently be on it, you're best to factory default it. to do this you use a paperclip or similar to push and hold the setup pin in on the back. if you push and hold you should see it will flash, you need to count the flashes until it gets to the 5th flash (factory default), release and then within 3 seconds press it once again - this is to confirm. the device will now reboot and reset to defaults. the login is admin and admin.

On your Mac I would recommend downloading Fing or Fing Desktop. this is a program that can easily scan your DHCP pool and show you what devices it can find. it should find the converter and tell you the IP address. Type that into your web browser and you should be good to go.

If you need any other help and I can help, let me know.

Thanks,

David

Hi David,

Thank you so much for taking the time to help. You are correct, this is a 'new to me' S/H BLC. I do have the pdf thank you, retrieved from the forum thread https://archivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/p/33252/249822.aspx#249822

I carried out the reset & at first there was no change, but after leaving the BLC plugged in & connected to the network for around an hour I came back to find it working & was able to access it with the IP address detailed in the manual, success! Thank you!

TBH I am finding the unit rather daunting/confusing, even with the manual & would be grateful for some further help. I still have a some wiring to complete & will post more details of my setup soon.

Thanks again for your much valued assistance.

Kind regards

Julian

Hi Julian,

Glad you're making progress! I don't claim to have all the answers and have had many issues with my ML/NL Converter, but where I can I'm more than happy to try and help.

Let me know how you get on,

Thanks,

David
