Hi All.

Total newbie in the B&O world, but living in Denmark, only one hour drive from B&O HQ I have always had a soft spot for them. :o)

Recently I started out by buying a Beomaster 3300 and Beogram CD3300, which led me on the search for some period correct speakers, and found a cheap set of passive Penta's. Only catch was that they came with a 4500 reciever, cassette player and a CD player as well.. Bugger.. Big SmileBig Smile

Wifey actually liked the 4500 and the sound of the Pentas, so they now reside in the living room, next to the tv.

Bragging over, both CD players had issues. The 3300 wouldn't open the lid but played. New cap, and belt solved that. The 4500 wouldn't read the disc, and couldn't open the lid either. I bought the set of caps from Beoparts along with the belt. Lid is as good as new now.. But 1/3rd of the CD's does not start. If I just press play, it spins, and then shuts off sometimes. Other times is plays just fine.

I can repeat the error with the same CD.. But if I press skip forward or backwards and , like manually move the head, it starts just fine. I can return to track number 1 and then it plays just fine.

Any hints on what I am facing?
