Hi
I just got this beogram. On opening it I saw the white cable was loose. I then saw a small white plastic piece lying inside. Seems to be a holder for the cable. Can't figure out where it goes even with the schematics. Any ideas? What do I do if it's now broken off?

I have just been able to find out where it goes. Going to be very difficult to repair :(
I managed to find a thread on using a screw to repair it. So hopefully I get it right.

I have the same problem..
I have inserted a screw which is sound but now the pully cable appears to be too short!!! I have re-rigged it again and again but to no avail. The spring is now being pulled to double it's previous length, the cabling is too tight and the tonearm misses the record regardless of adjusting the cam.
What am I missing?

There must be some wiring of the string that is incorrect. Could you post images of how it is wired ?

I took a picture to post but cannot see how to post it? But I agree, the rigging cannot be correct. But I fail to see where it is not. Checking pictures on the net now but it is not offering any solutions.
I must have re-rigged it all about 20 times today. There is nothing wrong yet suddenly it cues correctly now. The spring is still too stretched so I haven't found any slack in the wire. I just hope it lasts.
The cord / spring will fit noticeably tighter with this usual fix, because the bolt sits centered in the hole. The original plastic lug is on the edge of that same hole (right side in the above picture) and much smaller in diameter, so it will leave maybe 2 x 2 mm more cord length to play with.

That is an interesting thought. But,... the bolt is a bit further left than the original plastic peg, therefore giving more slack,(and I think that slack results in the park position of the tonearm a little closer to the edge of the record?) but then that slack is lost on the return line being the same distance away? So I don't see that makes any difference at all? What would make some difference is the thickness of the bolt compared to the original peg? Pulling the cord tighter? I can see that. But the difference must be miniscule? The difference I am seeing in the length of the cable is about 10mm. That does not compute?
