hi there all does enyone no if there is eny differance between the models exept the front covers one being a dull and the other being a mirror affect top ??? are the working the same could the laser be taken out of the 3500 cd player and put into a 4500 cdplayer
The laser module can be one of several different types in both players and they are basically all interchangeable as long as you keep theservo boards together with their respective laser blocks but why swap modules if you can just repair it and have both working, what are the symptoms ?

hi there martin thanks for the relpy the cd does spin but does not play after a second or so it sounds like the cd laser or arm fricks from one side then back as you can hear it hit one side then hit the other .
regards.

Clean the laser lens with a little tapehead cleaner (IPA) and a cotton bud.Still no luck, replace capacitors on the servo board (a kit exists, electronic knowledge and tools required). This normally cures the majority of faults looking like a dead laser.
martin thanks very much for your advice i will try the things you have said and let you now the out come i have also bought a 3500 as a back up for part or just swop the covers as the 3500 is in full working order .thanks again
