Ok, so I just built a 7.2.4 system with a Denon x4500.

But I suddenly bought a Beosystem 4 second hand.

If we don’t consider the 4K issue, what will give me the best sound?

I have an extra BL 14, so I can add some speakers.

My current speaker stock is:

3 x BL14 (2 x S8 mk1 and 1 x BL14 to be precise, but to make the discussion easier we call them all BL14)

13 x satelittes

4 x Beolab 4000

1 x Beolab 7.1

I also have a BS9000 I would like to use, and a ProJect record player.

My display is a LG Oled c9 65”

Looking forward for your input 😀

Are we talking moviies only or film and music?

Also easy of use, or pure sound?

It will be used for both movies and music.

Not sure what you mean by ease of use? Smile

Well i suspect that with a regular avr you have to change modes to listen to music as the movie tuning is way off.

I actually suspect the bs4 is the overall winner as it had the advantage of exactly know how the beolabs react to input and how it sounds with music. The regualar avr will probably slightly beat it on atmos movies as it knows what to do with the distance metadata and a bit better what to do with height channels for an atmos track. Proof is in the pudding i guess so test itBig Smile

I have a feeling it’ll be close as the trueimage is actually really good for effects and height experience.

When I'm playing a 5.1 LPCM source, my speaker group is 5.1 also. It still shows as 'downmix', right?
