Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a subwoofer that suits my Beolab 18 speakers.

Now I have heard that a Belab 11 would not be a good combination because the bass in the Beolab 18 would be sufficient.

What is your experience, is a Beolab 11 an addition or should I look for a Beolab 19?

Kind regards,

Ramon

Hi!

I have tried BL11 together with my BL18, and I felt it was underpowered. Maybe the BL11 will kick in on higher volumes..

Two weeks ago - I added a BL19, and wow! A very different animal than the BL11.

Deep nice bass, also at lower listening levels.

Well, Haven't tried it, but the specs of Beolab 18 states frequency 27-23000 and the Specs for Beolab 11 states as of 33, means it cannot go as low as the Beolab 18---I would think if you need more Bass, a Beolab 2/Beolab 19 is your options--

Regards

Beolab 11 is and is not a subwoofer. It was designed to add a nice level of bass for classical music in combination of BL6000 or equivalent. It is not intended to do heavy bass for movie’s, that was the sole purpose of the BL2.

In short, BL11 is not a proper subwoofer and will not benefit a BL18. You need a BL19, or an odd choice a BL14/S8 sub. A BL2 is very bass heavy buy not that accurate with music (bit slow). Another possibility is adding BL17’s to your setup, they are way better in bass then the 18’s!

BV Harmony 65 / Eclipse 55 / BL 50 / 19 / 18 / BS 2 all brass

BV Horizon 48 / V1 40 / BL 17 / Beoplay S3 all black

V1 / BL 3 / BS Essence MKII / Beoplay A3 all white

BS Moment / BS 3000 / BS 3200 / BL 400 all silver

Headphones / bluetooth speakers / BLC NL-ML / BLGateway

I know…B&O virus has grown on me !

I tried the combination of BL 18 and BL 11. The 11 does not add additional bass to the 18´s. I think of a BL 19 as well.

Kind regards,

Rolf
