I'm attempting to utilize an IR repeater/extender with my BeoCenter 2300 and I'm curious if anyone could help me to locate the IR eye on the unit?

Many thanks in advance for the help!

A Very Warm Welcome to Beoworld..

The IR receiver is on Module 6 behind the left door as shown below.

However, you need to note a couple of points:-

  • Most IR repeaters/extenders work with a carrier frequency in the range of 20 to 80 Khz only, whereas B&O's IR carrier frequency is 455 Khz
  • B&O's IR pulses are very narrow compare with almost all other remote IR signals, so many IR repeaters even if they do handle the carrier frequencies may not see these narrow pulses. There are a few products which will do the job such as Lintronic, but its quite an expensive option.

Other points to note about the Beocentre 2300:-

On early versions of the Beocentre 2300 prior to software version 1.3, the IR was two way for use with Beolink 5000/7000 remotes, but after serial number 11491838 the IR was one way i.e. receive only.
