Hello all,

I'm itching to get a playmaker but I had some questions which I was hoping you B&O experts would help me out with.  I have a BS3000 and still love it (yes, I still listen to CDs....I get a kick out of seeing the doors open up for me to put in my discs lol) so I would like to continue to use it.  My question is if I get a playmaker for my digital music what is the best way to hook it up.  I have a pair of BL5's connected to the BS3000.  I figured the simplest is:

BS3000 -(line out)-> playmaker --> BL5

But I was thinking I would lose some audio quality just connecting the bs3000 to the playmaker via line out.  Thoughts? Suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Hi g8who,

the BS3000 has an A-aux. Use this for connecting the PM.

You need a special cable: PL-RJ45 to Din-Aux. You can get the original cable from your dealer.

The PM must be set to Option 0 and to fixed-line output.

Best use a cabled networkconnection.

Hide it away if you don't like the design of it.

You activate the Aux with A-AUX from List on the Beo4, - volume is managed as usual.

The PM autodetects the source - see userguide.

Hi g8who,

I have the exact setup that Millemissen describes. It works very well and I also distribute Playmaker music throughout the house via masterlinked rooms. Select A.AUX on the Beo4 from any link room

I purchased the cable from one of this sites sponsors; Sounds Heavenly

Thanks Millemissen and Yendys!

I think I'll be making a trip to the B&O stop this week!

Cheers!

Hi Yendys,

Thanks for the recommendation!  I'm in the process of updating my website so at the moment I've just got this cable listed on my ebay store (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/121049808386) - however I can make this up to order in any length up to 15 metres within a day or two, so I'm always happy to help with any enquiries.

The important thing here is not to use a standard RJ45 to Powerlink cable, as the Data and Trigger pins cause unwanted interference over the audio when the PlayMaker switches on or off.

Kind regards, Steve.

Steve.
