Beocom 1401 table holder for iPhone?

i have had a great idea! but I'm not sure if it will work. will an iPhone fit in a Beocom 1401 table holder? will it fit in the gap where the phone goes? and is the iPhone to wide to fit in the slot?

Hi. Just tried. The Iphone is about 5mm to wide.
