Hi i wondered if anyone can help me. I have a beogram 4500 with a newish stylus but when it plays it sounds all muffled and no real sound comes out. Could the amp inside the player be broken and can i just bypass this by hooking up a pre amp kit?

Any thoughts would be much appreciated.   thanks  andy

Could be the built-in RIAA but far more likely dirt on the stylus and/or wrongly set tracking force.
The built-in RIAA is not easily bypassed.
