hello, i have a Beo5 and i want control my Tv Sony, player bluray Panasonic, Tvix Slim S1....Clim Sanyo...
where can I find the xml file for my products ?
Thx
The Beo5 is programmed by dealers and those customers who have a copy of the B&O Configuration Tool.
Included in the tool is everything you need to program a Beo5/6 to control all modern B&O products and a range of B&O partner third party products such as Lutron lighting.
The configuration details of all products are defined in a standard XML file which only becomes important when you wish to control third party products not defined by B&O within the Configuration Tool.
The hardware and firmware of a Beo5 and Beo6 supports third party IR codes which have a carrier frequency between 30Khz and 80Khz, but to make use of this facility an XML file has to be made for that particular third party product and then it can be added to the B&O Tool and used in the normal way.
Making an XML file can be a difficult task depending on the third party product you are using. If you have the orignal third party product remote control then the first thing you need to do is establish the carrier frequency used, knowing the IR protocol is needed for some protocols particularly RC5 because of the way we must handle the"Toggle bit"
You can also look HERE at some web pages I put together a few years ago and whilst it is not up to date it does give you a fuller overview
To give you an understanding of how much work goes into an XML file I have attached one and changed the extension from .XML to .TXT so you can open it in Windows Notepad or similar text editor
