Hi all,

I am considering upgrading our dating beovision 7 32 Mk 1, unsure what the best route is though so I would appreciate input from other members.

As I see it I have four options:-

1) Buy a used Mk 4 7 40

2) Buy a new Mk 4 7 40, dealer is offering an impressive discount at the moment

3) Buy a new 10 46, again big discount on offer here

4) Wait 6-12 months and see what is on offer (probably new product)

We also have a link system so I am slightly worried about compatibility, if I wait for a new product will it be able to work alongside our other products? And how much will that add to the cost of an already pricey television?

That is why I am leaning towards a new 'old' product with decent discount & a long warranty.

What would you do?!

Hi there,

I would go for a bv7 as it has a blue ray or dvd built in.  I know its slightly older technology, but it does have the beosystem 3 built in it means that you dont have a dvd or blue ray next to the tv so it looks neat!!

But the choice is down to you

Cheers Nick

Having owned a BV7-40 MKIV, a BV10-46 and now a BV11-46, I have no hesitation in recommending the BV7-40 MKIV, particularly with a Blu-ray player. It's a true all-in-one media system, with a superb speaker.

One question though: how would a BV7-40 MKIV be regarded by your dealer as 'new'? The BV7-40 MKVI (MK6) was released quite a long time ago now and a MKIV (4) is about four years old. If anything, it must be an ex-demo unit.

Sorry the 'new' 7 40 would be the latest model, if I bought used I would probably look for a Mk 4, my bad.

To be honest we are not too bothered about Blu-Ray as we don't collect them & mainly download films, if we were to buy a new 7 40 it would be without internal Blu ray.

So performance wise how would you rate the 10 46 compared to the 7 40?

Cheers

Picture-wise, about the same as a 7-40 (7-55 is much better), sound-wise, far inferior. I'd only go for the BV10-46 if you like the design. If you want an all-round performer, BV7-40 MKIV is a better bet.

Ok thanks, all good advice. I was starting to lean towards the 10 46 mainly because of the bigger screen size. It's such a big investment though and I don't want to make the wrong choice!

Cheers again,

Eddy
