I have a DVD1 connected to a Beovision Avant 28 via a Euroscart cable. The DVD1 is configured as RGB output.

I need to connect the video signal to a 1080p Panasonic video projector with HDMI, YCbCr/YPbPr and VGA inputs.

What cabling/converters would you recomend in order to get the highest quality picture?

Thank you

There are cables scart to YCbCr/YPbPr (if dvd1 has only scart and can output YCbCr/YPbPr - no manual/details here, sorry). I suppose the projector has a good integrated scaler, so you could try this first.

Your DVD1 is RGB scart and the component input from your projector will probably not handle that signal.

(likely as it didn't work here)

VGA supports RGB video formats.

Don't expect to much from the image quality from the (SD) DVD1. Projectors aren't the best upscalers. It's best to use a system3 or a better dvdplayer, like Denon with a Faroudja or Reon VX chipset.

I prefer not to buy another dvdplayer since I'm a B&O victim Smile

What do you mean with: "VGA supports RGB video formats."?

So, so far I think that the best option will be to buy a Scart RGB to HDMI adapter, capable of handling 1080p

A scart to hdmi is the most expensive solution and does not give you a better picture.

I meant that if you take a scart (RGB) to VGA cable, it will work. The VGA input can handle the scart (576i) videoformat.

But be aware that when you use the scart from the DVD1 to the Avant for controlling the DVD1, you only have the videocomposite cinch left for the projector on the back of the DVD1.  I don't remember if the DVD1 sends out RGB over scart and videocomposite simultaneously.

Also the decoderscart on the avant has only videocomposite out available. The decoder scart doesn't provide you RGB on it's scart.

Ok, I didn't know that the VGA input can handle the Scart RGB video format. That sounds really good thank you.

Ups, I expected to have RGB output in the decoder scart. I'll have to use some sort of splitter then..., right?
