Hello there,
I have LC2s installed in my Living room, Bedroom, Kitchen and Office and when I come home, I would like to turn them all on from my door with my A9 keyring or Beo4.
Does Bang & Olufsen offer any solutions for this? I have been reading about MCL etc. but if I understand it right, they are not equipped with IR emitters, i.e. they are only IR receivers.
So I assume that what I would need is some sort of IR extender (which I have in my cupboard to control hidden equipment - non B&O of course ) with long range, i.e. more than the 30 cm they usually offer.
Does anyone know how I could achieve this?
Best regards,
Martin
My B&O products: Beosound 9000, Beosound 2300, Beosound Century, Beolab 8000, Beolab 6000, Beolab 4000 x2, Beolab 3500, Beolab 2000, Beolab 10, Beolink Active x2, Beotime, Beo5 x2, Beo4, A9 keyring x2, LC2 dimmer x6 and growing....
Hi there. I have not used mcl but i seem to remember it allows two way controller as opposed to ml which allows only one way control
If you have a two way system like BS7000, BC95000...and an MCL system you can do that in a very simple way.
Just create LINK LIGHT scenes for your system, it`s described in the MCL manual, I think, and just press LINK - LIGHT - X(number) for the desired light scene (LINK LIGHT - GO should also work to activate all LC2s in the house.
You need an MCL extra speaker kit, MCL 2 AV or a two way Beovision like an older MX4000 in every room with LC2s, because these products receive and send IR commands - that`s why Beolink 7000/5000 also work via link rooms in two way mode.
All this also works timer controlled!
Next option would be a Lintronic box that receives a command from your entrance via your A9 sending a link light command to your system.
The trigger can also be a switch installed near the door. The box can also be used for other purposes - arming/disarming the security system, open/close curtains...
Hope this helps
Stefan
Thanks for the tips!
I do not have any device for two-way communication, nor do I have a link system installed (except for a Beolab 2000 in my bedroom masterlinked from a Beosound 2300 in my living room).
I am trying to find something that works wirelessly since I am unable to hide the cables in the walls (rental apartment) and my better half will not let me run any more cables outside the walls. Also, I want it to be relatively cheap since what I currently want to achieve is for me to avoid having to move around 3 meters in my hallway to light everything up (i.e. a bad business case ).
What would be great would be if there was a reasonably priced IR extender that is able to transmit IR in 455 khz, but I cannot find any solutions out there.
However, I am thinking of replacing my Beolab 2000 in my bedroom with a pair of Beolab 4000s and a Beolink active kit. Does anyone know if the IR eye (the new round one) is able to transmit LIGHT commands from other rooms?(Beolink Active connected to the BS2300)
Would it work if I just had a couple of MCL 2 AV boxes or similar and the connect IR eyes to them?
(i.e. not having them connected to any B&O system, just as a separate link solution to transmit IR?)
