Dear all,

I have recently purchased a Beo Sound 5 with a pair of Beo Lab 8002s for my formal drawing room. I am looking to install a Beo Sound 5 Encore for my dining room along with a pair of Beo Lab 3s. I wish to connect the BS5 to the BS5 Encore so that Encore can also use the songs stored in the Beo Master 5's hard disk. My local B&O installer says that it would not be possible since the Encore does not come with a master link. He also told me that in case I use the ethernet wire to do this, i would have to buy a few routers and what not to get the two devices to talk to each other. Does anyone know how it can easily be done?

Thanks in advance.

Just connect the BS5E to the same network as the BM5, but ethernet or wifi (5GHz only).

Enable the multimedia server in the BM5 if it's not enabled by default.

Add the BM5 as the N.Music source of the Encore. The Encore will start analysing the library for MOTS.

The two devices will be able to play all songs from the same library. But they will not talk to each other at this point : no "synchronised" play of the same song at the same time (which a simple Airport or Sonos system can do, I hope it will come soon), and no sharing of the MOTS database, which means all device have to build their own MOTS database.
