Hi, I was offered a Mk III DVD RF Avant, but was concerned about something.

On the left side of the screen, there is a 3 mm gap (vertically) where the picture does not meet the black border of the screen (a 3 mm greyish strip).

Is this a simple adjustment, or something worse?

Just wondering if anyone had the same issue or may know what the problem is.

Thank you very much.

That sounds like under-scanning of the picture tube. It can usually be corrected in the service menu with the horizontal phase and amplitude controls

Thank you very much Ron.  Can I please ask how you access the service menu?

There are some very critical adjustments in the service menu and access to it is retricted.

Try and get a B&O engineer to do it, as much damage can be done if you don't have the test gear to do the adjustment properly.
