Hello all,
I've obtained a WB10 wall bracket for my Beosystem 10 from eBay, however, when it arrived, despite being perfectly packaged, I noticed that it had small flecks on the surface which detract from the appearance. I've tried using water with a mild detergent with no effect and also isopropyl alcohol, again with no effect. I assume that there has been some corrosion to the surface finish/coating?
Naturally I'm disappointed and wondered if anyone has had a similar issue which they've managed to resolve?

I've used a non-abrasive car wax and furniture polish (spray wax) with some success. You just need to be careful not to scuff up or wear off the clear coat finish. Use a soft cloth, not a paper towel.

@ Hungedu - thanks, I'll give that a try but think that the clear cote has already been effected. You can 'feel' the marks if you rub your finger over the surface of the bracket
hi, don't know if this is appropriate but i picked up a beogram 1902 that had duct tape on for years, needless to say when i peeled it off the adhesive was completely set and no amount of soap and water would shift it, i figured i would have to just put up with it
one of the guys on here suggested eucalyptus oil, so i tried it and after leaving it on a short time it lifted the dried on adhesive, looks really great now and no damage to the aluminium, might be worth a try

The spots are most likely to be oxidation attacking the aluminium material.You can see it in a microscope.If it is indeed oxidation, there's really nothing you can do about it.If it's very bad and you cannot live with it, you can sand it all down lightly and give it a silver/grey (car wheel) spray.The eloxation cannot easily be repaired.

I was fearing as much - it's a shame as it spoils the clean look of the bracket! Being a perfectionist it's annoying as I searched for a while to find one as well! I'll just have to live with it!
