I have run powerlink cables in walls that have been rebuilt and they will exit via powerlink sockets in the walls. Now I need to have the correct length cables from the sockets to the equipment made up.
So, I have the DIN plugs and cables. ( all happy at this point).
However, upon attempting to solder plugs and cables I become aware that my age has had a detrimental effect on my eyesight and as this job is quite fiddly it has beaten me!
I wonder if anyone on this forum with the required skills and eyesight would be willing to assist? I don't mind paying for the service. There are 8 to do!
Any assistance would be appreciated.
Many thanks.
I hear you brother! I started encountering the same problem about a decade ago. I was trying to solder a board and found I couldn't focus on my work. So, I got this combination lamp and magnifier that clamps to the desk and has a hinged arm that allows it to be positioned where you need it. It's got a large magnifying lens surrounded by a circular fluorescent tube. I see the same thing available now only with LED lights. This has worked well for me, hands free and the combination of magnification and more light does the trick.

I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus.
Thanks Jeff. I have one. It helps but not enough! Age is a cruel thing!
I have to use something like below. Trick is to get the correct magnification (more is not necessarily better) and to ensure the focal length is longth enough that your head is far enough aware to get your hands into the workpiece!! Sounds daft but we have had some that were great for inspecting but you couldn't do anything to the work while wearing them!
Ban boring signatures!

I have a sneaking suspicion I will wind up in the same boat eventually. My eyes and the progressive lenses I wear have already rendered me unable to use conventional iron sights on a rifle, I can't focus on the rear sight, barely on the front. I either need a peep sight for the rear instead of a v notch or a holographic red dot optical sight. Bummer. Handguns I can still do fine with but not rifles.
