I picked up a Beocenter 3500 at a yard sale in North Carolina/USA - just the unit alone with no speakers. The unit is a UK unit so I ordered a simple UK-US plug 'converter'. When plugging the UK plugs into the back of the converter (and then into the wall), the red power light comes on. - so I think it's ready to go. I have a few questions - here they are :
- the back of the unit has a rotary dial with Volts (110, 220, etc). Do I need to rotate this to 110 or does the convertor handle this conversion ?
- the speaker connectors on the back of the unit are odd looking (I've attached a picture). They are not RCA plugs, banana plugs, or just blacl/red connector points (what I am used to seeing). Is this a special connection or something that is unique to the UK ? How do I connect my speaker wire to the back of this unit ?t
- there is a wire sticking out of the back of the unit with an RCA split (female plugs). Is this there so I can attach am aux unit (i.e., CD player) ?
- The front switches have something called AFC, hi/low filter, loudness - what are these ?
- is there a place to get a turntable belt for this unit ?
- is there somewhere where I can get the users's manual for this unti ? (I found a service manual but not the user's manual)
Thanks for your help with htis.
