I've found a couple answers in a previous thread and tried them both to no avail.
-With unit unplugged I move the tone arm to the end of the record position and plug in the unit.
Nothing happens. I doesn't reset anything. It drops to play, picks up and moves to stop position. Platter keeps spinning.
- I tried setting the tonearm back, a little further than it's usual resting (off) position.
Platter keeps spinning.
I took this TT to a fix it guy in town. It acted normal. He checked all the electronics and they all tested fine. It would not ghost spin.
I got it home plugged it in, put a record on, and everything was normal. Record played finished and the platter stopped spinning.
This morning I looked at the TT and low and behold it was spinning. The tone arm was in the off position.
I unplugged and plugged it back in several times and it continued to spin.
I unplugged it and went to work. When I got home, i plugged it in and it didn't ghost spin.
If anyone had any insight into what is causing this and how it might be remedied I would be grateful.
Thanks.
Can you give us the 4-digit type number found on the serial number label ?If your deck has the TURN button, check that it's not binding and excersize it a bit. There is also a motor switch inside the deck that could be bent or missing a spring or similar.

Type 5716

I just plugged it in and it was still.
I worked the turn button a bit.
First time it spun and stopped. After a few more pushes of the turn button it stayed stuck in turn mode.
Maybe it is a switch. I'll open it up and have a look.
Thanks for the reply.
