Hi

I am ready to buy a beovision 10 40 mk 1 2010 and the service counter provided by the seller shows big days of use. I have never seen this on a secondhand bv.

here is the service counter :

Audio(days) 0045
Boot counter 0086
Video(days) 0608
ON(T*10) 0215
8 hours/day during 5 years, that's not a normal use, don't you thing ?
I asked the seller to check it. He is not a professional.
if these figures are true, this tv was probably used in a store.
With around 14000 hours of use, do you think it still has some years left.
thanks

I have to be honest and say I get pretty annoyed with all this obsession over service counters...   I've had people walk away from a 3 year old TV which has done 8,000 hours in favour of a 6 year old TV which has done 5,000 hours.  Madness!  All this usage thing was extremely relevant in the early 1990's when plasma screens had a very short lifespan. With modern TV's this is very different - they last a lot longer, like modern cars.  The biggest pain is software, not hardware!!

The TV will last, in my opinion, 80,000 - 100,000 hours.  So, work out if you'll even be the owner of the thing when it goes 'bang' and take it from there..

Use high usage as a bargaining tool, not a reason to walk away.

Thanks lee for your clear answer.

I have asked this question because this is the first time I see such figures and I am surprised to see this.

this tv is already a bargain and if the PQ is good and it has no visible fault I will jump on it, no problem.

What annoys me is that this tv in a pretended normal use stayed on 8 hours per day.

The sellers is a friend of the original owner. Seem to be very honest and gave me many details about it.

I am waiting for his answer about this.

Maybe I am wrong and it is not so rare to see such high counters, maybe for the young generation of b&o owner.

According to the original owner, this tv was also used as a monitor for his computer.

that explain why it has been used 8 hours per day.
