Today the 'AV' command is mostly used to trigger the audiopart of a video source - thus leaving the screen blank, and changing the loudspeaker combination according to the settings for audio sources in the menu.
The V1 never did understand this - and it is quite annoying if you often send sound via AirPlay to the ATV on a V1.
In the beginning, as the V1 was a standalone tv, this was understandable - there was no option 2....
After the software update, which makes it possible to use a V1 with another NL BV and/or the NL/ML-converter, the option 2 is possible - but apparently it still don't 'understand' the use of the 'AV' command before a videosource command.
In the lexicon of entries in 'List' on Beo4 you can find lots of exampels, which simplifies this - 'A-APPLE' as one of them.
I know you - as a workaround - can use 'P-MUTE' and then manually change the loudspeaker configuration to the audio preference. But this isn't very bright!
How does V1-owners cope with this?
Does it bother you?
Shouldn't B&O deliever an update to chance this 'mistake'?
Greetings (or Grrr!) Millemissen
There is a tv - and there is a BV
Buying a Beo5/6 just because B&O can't/won't make a software update - that would be hard to swallow.
Maybe I should write them, and ask for either a software update or a free Beo6
N.B. nothing wrong with the V1 - just this 'little desaster''. I liked the V1 from the start.

How about the BV11?
Does the 'AV' command work there?

Similar chassis and same problem unfortunately......
Ah, you know... A little B&O here, a little there
Makes things even worse.
+1 on this - it would be amazing to go straight to AV with an automatically muted screen. I mean having to push P.MUTE isn't the end of the world, but it's a first-world problem that I'd nonetheless like to solve.
Hi Raeuber,
I know about the behaviour of the BV7 - one of my friends always mock me about that
In fact this is how it should be!!!
On my BV8-40 I never/seldom use 'P-Mute' - always the 'AV' function, which turns on only the 'audio speaker constellation'. Actually only for the AppleTV, when I know that I only need sound/music via AirPlay.
And of cource there is no stand by the BV8 - hardly ever used that on my old Avant anyway.
Thinking of buing a V1-32 for my 'büro', the fact that the 'AV' button does not work, makes me hesitate.
Means: if the update came, I would immediatly go get one ---- but overall I like the V1 anyway.
I just wonder why BV11 owners don't 'get upset' with the fact that it doesn't work there either???
Greetings Millemissen
Another workaround is to connect the optical of the ATV to the spdif of the tv. (convertor required)
Setup the AV-source in the Source List Setup to a free source and open the Spdif in the advanced settings. Because there is no signal on the AV-connector of the V1, the screen will stay muted.
Actually not a bad idea
If you have more than one newer BV product with the new engine in it, you could also simply share the speakers from another tv. After a minute of no picture it too kills the screen and all you hear is the audio as P. Mute does.

I think we should give it a try.
My concern with this thread was to find out, if I was/am the only one, who think this is a problem.
Seems there a more...
Whenever it is possible, we could ask our dealers how they think about it. And we - or at least some of us - could write Struer and ask for clarification.
There are exampels that they react to inquiries of this kind.
This would be a good place to report back, what the answer was.

Could you explain this a bit more?
Do you mean that one could draw on a source (ATV as an example) hooked up to 'TV-A', and listen to it on 'TV-B'.
This might be possible - but it surely is a 'workaround-around-around...'
Yes, a network link setup without masterlink. Actually, after a certain update a few months ago this is possible. Very nice!
Exactly!!^^ It is def. a work around for anyone that has no legacy audio equipment and have multiple newer BV's, as it only works for digital sources from my understanding. It allows you to "Share Speakers" with other TV's only or distribute it with the NL Convertor to multiple BV's that are NL native.
@DoubleU

You quoted your own answer!
I know - but at that time it seemed that noone payed attention to these facts
Glad that this now has chanced.
But - honestly - the 'workaround....' with the 'speaker sharing' I did not realize untill now.
Problem is that not often people have two NL tv's.
Most of us either have a BV11 as main tv with old ML products as well - or the V1 as a LinkRoom/standalone tv.
So we NEED the update anyway
