Mrs P. is in London with her pals doing the "show" thing and I'm left to my own devices with a bottle (or two) looking up memories on Youtube. I ended up  here -

I'm sure Peter and others will remember the genius that was Alan Hull, I saw them many times at their home base, Newcastle City Hall, and I never left anything other than impressed!

Sorry, if this seems "off topic" or parochial but they were certainly played lots of times on my Beogram 5000 and watching them on Youtube rang some bells tonight!!!

Ban boring signatures!

Many years ago I recorded the group playing music on the beach in Northumberland for the BBC Nationwide programme, it was pure magic, a morning music session in the open air.

I went to a number of the Christmas concerts. Have all the albums on vinyl - and the Radiator ones as well! Alan Hull is much missed.

Another Geordie music legend is Brian Johnson of AC/DC

Born in my grandparent's town , Dunston.

I wonder if that was for the Back and Fourth album which has the album cover with Lindisfarne Island on it.

I have a 7" of Lindisfarne and Gazza doing 'Fog on the Tyne'.

Not their proudest moment.

When they turn our aircraft into a freighter, I quite often play that from my iphone on the PA for the loadmasters.
