Hello all

Now I'm back from my Spanish adventures I have a problem with my 11. On Thursday night I watched Aliens through Blu Ray and at volumes 65-67 the TV just gave up on bass completely and starting pumping out fluttery non existent bass, the type you would expect from some very cheap speakers.

The next day the kids watched Finding Nemo, and again at times we had cheap sounding bass. I popped into on of my local B&O stores(not the one to my west because they are rude) and tried a Beolab 2 with it. It made things better, but in a very crude agricultural way compared to when I had one mated with a 7-40. It really was so on and then off, it almost became annoying. It just didn't blend it subtly and add to the ingredients of the sound.

Anyway that didn't work very well so that went back. I'm watching another gory blood fest now and although the sound is great most of the time, every now and then.....

It's still a flat screen TV at the end of the day, and delivers fantastic for its volume but the loss and cheapness of the bass is a mystery. Any ideas?

Could it be a setting that's been re-adjusted?

Yes I looked at that, and the problem occurred before I tried the Beolab 2 as well so it can't be that. Most if the time it's fine, occasionally dreadful!

That sounds strange...do you think it could be a fault? Maybe get a call out?

Chris how did your bass issue get resolved (if at all). I did hear 11-46 at the dealer and one of the reasons I chose the 11-55 is that the sound was much fuller than the former. However strangely enough I have noticed that I need to play everything at a higher volume - between 55-60. I recall when I just had the TV I was playing at between 45-50. I am not sure if something has changed with latest software update (or maybe I am just getting older). The other interesting part is that I have been playing with the sound settings, which really impact the bass. I can't say I figured out the ultimate setting, but some recent changes have changed the dynamics of the speakers.

I have caught myself using an incorrect <sound> format multiple times with the new TVs.  For example the program for music is very different from that of sport.  if one goes through the sound guide, it is easy to make huge adjustments on the TV, even with no extra speakers engaged. It might be worth a check on the speaker setup.
