Greetings all! Its been a while, but I have a question seeing that I can't seem to find any Documentation about the Beolab 150/200 amps themselves in regards to using them as a stand alone amplifier.
I noticed that the base of the Pentas from what I have seen have terminal connection for both a Datalink socket as well as two wire terminals as the connection on the top of the Beolab 150/200 amp have. I assume the Datalink socket was only necessary in order to transfer the data need to drive the display on the Pentas themselves.
If I plan to use that amp in order to drive a BeoVox Cona subwoofer I assume that I would just use the wire connections correct?
Connecting to the Amp I am running a Powerlink cable and thus have set all the Front panel switches to the three strips which is suggested in the Penta User manual.
I recall if i am not mistaken that some out there used this setup. Anything that I am missing, suggestions?
I am sure it will be fine but the Beolab 150 is a bit powerful for the Cona - I think the power handling is less than 100W so bear that in mind. Also the Cona accepts stereo input whilst the 150 is a mono amplifier - if you have a dedicated sub output, that should be less of a problem. And finally, the Cona was designed to help with the lack of bass in the C/CX series of speakers, so actually has quite a high cross over setting and doesn't actually go that low!!
