Hello everyone

I have been watching Oblivion tonight, and currently The Monk. Both are quite dark films with The Monk having subtitles.

The problem is that with the selective light control or whatever it's called, when some text appears on a dark image, the lights illuminate for that part of the screen only. So imagine a dark image with subtitles, and where there are subtitles you get a vivid grey bank of rectangular light appearing across the screen.

Can I turn this effect off? It's dreadful.

Does the movie mode take information from the light sensor on top. Only found information on the adaptive setting.

Beosound Stage, Beovision 8-40, Beolit 20, Beosound Explore.

hallo,

in the service menu under picture adjustments you can control the behavior of the backlight and the edge light.

setting 1 and 2 will switch it off and 3 and 4 on. 3 is default in my tv.

the intensity can be controlled too.

but it will change the behavior in a light room as well.

in my eyes the sensor of the tv does not recognize dark rooms right in connection with the edge lighting.
