I have researched and found an array of information that is ranging in relevance for what I want to do.
Basically I settled on running 2 Cat7 S/FTP cables from where I want my TV to right and left rear speaker (BeoLab 5000).Since I installed recessed lighting I ran the cables when the ceiling was open.
I wanted to put these in with possibility of using this cable with adapters on both end to cover whatever they would need to do (RCA, ethernet, powerlink, masterlink, you name it) in the event of re-sale or using another sound system.
So now I have the cable in the wall with no wall sockets and I'm trying to figure out which ones I need. Please help me figure out what parts I need and where I can get them - is regular rj45 connectors OK?
I think I can use Steve from Soundsheavenly RJ45 to Powerlink cables on both ends when I have the sockets in the wall. I will not be using a tv yet, but a BeoSystem 6500 on the other end of the cables.
As network cables are more common by the day, more brands sell standard wall sockets. Probably not every DIY store will have these, but all the stands I have seen last had the same sockets.
Make sure you use the extra shielded cover instead of the bare sockets. All are cables connected by the 568B standard.
