Bought new last week. The Spotify functionality is great, certainly the way to go. Setting it all up (stand, cables, file transfers etc) was not the easiest, thanks to old posts on the forum I did however manage.  I can only hope that the cooperation with Spotify will last and that everybody involved continue their good work together. After buying a white BS9000 a few years ago it appears that the BS5 was worth the wait.

A quick question: The BM5 sends volume & text info to the BL5000 panels but does not switch them off completely. Maybe somebody knows why the backlighting on the BL5000 screens stays on when the system is "off / in standby"? With the BS9000 they worked perfectly, i have not changed the PL cable or the settings on the speakers. Maybe while MOTS is running in the background?

Hi

The BL 5000 were designed to work with the old MLC system.

This means when connected in the main room, they would be muted but the display would be on.

In the link room the music would play.

1) first check that your speakers are set to AUDIO.

Then you have to modify the powerlink cable so pin 1 and pin 4 is connected together.

In the old system pin 1 was powering the speakers on/off, pin 4 was the mute function.

When B&O abandon display speakers the also abandon the pin 1 on/off.

On older system like BS Ouverture/ BS 9000 etc Pin 1 was still active , on later models like

BM5 pin 1 is not connected  IE not active. If no pin 1 signal the display will not switch off, as the loaudspeaker actually is in the mute mode, IE not switched off.
