CES Best of Innovations, Design and Engineering Honourees
The International CES 2014 will also see 28 companies crowned with a CES Innovations Awards honour, which recognises design and engineering advancements.
Awards are given based on engineering and design qualities, as well as the intended use and unique features.
However, unlike most award ceremonies, where the winners don't find out until the event, CES has announced the 2014 winners beforehand.
The winners are showcased at CES Unveiled on Sunday 5th January, two days before the International CES 2014 begins.
Sony is one of the big winners this year, walking away with four awards. One of them being for the company's 4K Media Player, released in conjunction with Sony's 4K TVs and projectors – though sadly not available in the UK.
B&O takes top honours in the high performance home audio for the BeoLab 18 speakers.
As ever, we'll be bringing you the latest news and rumours as we hear it, as well as reporting live from CES 2014 in January

That is really great news !
I think they one a similar CES award a year or two back.
I am really looking forward to this year's CES - see how much confusion or resolution (no pun intended) around 4K technology, as well as wearables.
And I saw a Samsung $39,999.00 85" 4K screen in the local "JB HiFi" store -- good to see an expensive TV from some one other than B&O - and it was in an easel arrangement that looked like a garden swing !!!

(can't wait for the prices to drop)

Hiya Elephant and Happy New Year.....Yes that is really Great News for B&O and just maybe more of the sort of thing on the way :-) in 2014.
As for the 85" Screen,Samsung and LG will be showing a 105" 4k tv at round 90K and I think 2014/15 will be the year of 4k as Netflix will start pushing 4k this year and will stream House of Cards in 4k.They say they can do it over 15Mps with new codec, also Amazon Studios will start filming in 4k also.
This 4k train could be zooming along faster then we think? So not to get left behind B&O will have to do sooner rather than later I guess!
4K would be my next buy/upgrade.Would like it a B&O as have had there stuff over 30 years and house is Kitted but if not would have to be someone elses make with a Beosystem 4 if it went to 4k or no B&O at all :-(

Once Netflix start doing this, others will follow, even if it's a single channel on Sky. 15Mbps is within the bandwidth remit for high-quality Sky channel.
I was thinking the other day how amazing the picture quality is on my BV10-32 compared to my first 32" LCD, the BV7-32, back in 2003. In those days, the picture quality was so poor, particularly if the programme displayed motion, it made football almost unwatchable. I remember seriously considering getting a CRT again such as the picture quality downgrade from CRT to the first LCD!
Back on topic, great news on another CES award for B&O. CES generates a hell of a lot of tech press, so can only be a good thing for the brand.
