Hi All,
Any A9 owners in here have tried connecting the optical input to a TV or any other devices?
I am hoping I can connect this to my TV via optical.
Asked both different stores & none of them got any idea.
I am about to purchase the A9.
Thanks everyone.
Get an optical to rca converter. Many options on Amazon that will suit your needs. $20 and up.
Why is there an optical port there? By connecting via RCA will that decrease the sound quality?
that optical connection is used for production purposes only I believe. There is no way to send Toslink directly to the A9 as it is currently.
Ah, you know... A little B&O here, a little there
There is no 'optical input' on a A9.
At least I have never heard of one or seen it
If you want to connect a digital source/signal, you must - as already suggested - first convert it to an analog (rca-connection).
How good this is, depends on the converter (DAC) you use.
Beware: if you convert a digital outut-signal to an analog there might be a slight delay - which might annoy when watching tv.

There is a tv - and there is a BV
Thanks for the reply everyone.
Just picked up my Beoplay A9, blowed all my windows out. Is an awesome speaker.
The optical is no longer there. Look like they have removed completely.
I have setup airplay and streaming fine.
Anyone here connected their A9 to the TV via the line in? I tried connect to it but no sound at all with my Sony TV.
Just opened the back of my A9. It does indeed have an optical connection, but it's not labeled as the rest of the connections. But it isn't covered up either.
My A9 was one of the very first delivered.
Beovision Eclipse gen2 (GX) w/ floorstand, Beolab 14.2, 4 speaker Shape and ATV4/Chromecast.
Beoplay A9mk4 GVA, Beosound 1 GVA, H2, H3, H8, E6, Beoplay EQ
This optical connection does not have to be a 'optical-input'.
Could also be a '-output', which is included on the used module, and therefore hidden by B&O.
Just a thought!
