Hi,
I've just joined this forum and hope that this is in the correct place.
I live in Canada and I have just been given a set of Beolab Penta 1 speakers and a Beomaster 5500.
I would like to know if I can use these speakers with a system other than the Beomaster 5500.
If I can could someone please explain to me how I connect these.
Thanks very much for any and all assistance.
Hello Gary, welcome do the Forum.
What System do you have in mind?
As you can see, lots of possibilities...

Thanks so much for answering my cry for help. Im confused.
On my din connector at the bottom of the amp I have 2 wires coming out of the din connector, each with a sheild. I have a white wire with a sheid and a red wire with a sheild. Please explain again.
Will I be able to plug In the speakers and use their power amps if I run these through another system
Sorry for all the questions but I want to make sure I dont do anything wrong and destroy these.
Honestly im not nuts. I've never used this kind of equipment before. My main equipment is a Techniqes flat serries with a set of Altec m5's and 18" subs with Ramsa crossovers.
The sockets for DIN + springs are for regular connection of normal (shielded) loudspeaker cables, you won't be using the amps of the speaker then (in my understanding - since you already Transfer an amplified Signal).
To use the built in amp, you need the line-inputs, attaching these to the pre-outs of your amp/reciever (if these are availabe / an pre-amp can be used as well).

That´s not correct. All inputs will use the built-in amp. However the speaker leve input terminals will reduce the level to be appropriate for the amplifier.
If you want to use them as passive speakers the amp can be removed.
//Bo.A long list...
Thanks for explaining/clarifying.
