Hi guys currently got a older model beovision 6 22 just wondering if a humax box will allow me to control set top box using beo4?i rang up b and o and this said too old to be upgraded eg stb list however as it does have some older model of humax stb listed on the stb guide on the menu list on tv and i was thinking would a newer humax box still work if exact model not listed,I just want to be able to control a stb box using my beo4
Take a look in the archive forum.
I'm fairly sure that Keith at some point found that a lot of Humax boxes shared the same codes.
You could also check the STB list on your BV6 and try to source an exact STB via eBay.

Cheers yes tried ebay but these boxes listed on tv are about 10 yrs old and unable to get models around this date
What kind of stb box do you need? Cable- satellite-, dvbt receiver...?
I have some satellite boxes that can be controlled directly via Beo4 - with built in Beo4 chip - no puc necessary.
They are Humax and Digiality (Scart connection, no HD TV).

Hi Stefan,
Just a freeview box do not need HD,not a sattellite just one that I connect my aerial to and picks up UK freeview! That would be great if you any a box with it already biult in for beo4 remote!
And scart socket only needed !

There is a tv - and there is a BV
Sorry, my boxes are satellite receivers.
But the link to oneremote might help. They make Scart cables with builtin Beo chips. So the scart connected box will be controlled via scart pin 8 through your Beovision. Oneremote are also selling cable boxes with this chip.

You can also contact Ulf. www.ulf-kiener.de
He makes a chip for stb boxes. He already did some modifying/customizing work for me. You can send him a box, and he will make it Beo-controllable.
His chip is great.
Good luck
Great thanks for that !
Hope this works with uk boxes ?
vikinger:You could also check the STB list on your BV6
If you look in your PUC list/STB controller list you will see the various models of STB it can control. Whatever is in the PUC/STB list can be controlled by the Beo4 with a cheap IR cable from the TV to the STB.Does it list any Humax Boxes at all? You might not have to go to the expense of the oneremote solutions
I use a Humax PVR-9300T, with my old BeoVision 5. the Remote seems the same as the one for the PVR-9200T I had before!
PS if it will control HUMAX boxes look here for really good deals direct from Humax. I've used them a couple of times and they are brilliant!

The WIKI (found here) is very useful re STB/PUC contollers and lists the various 3rd party boxes each can control. Have a read and see if it helps in which direction you need to go.
I am not sure whether the BV6-22 is STB controller or PUC controller but once you know, I believe either can usually be upgraded.
Cheers for that the humax box I am getting is the pvr 9150T This model isnt listed on the stb list guide on the tv list it is a stb list
I was thinking there are a few Humax listed on the Tv list do you think any one would work with the pvr9150t ? also will I also need a ir blaster to control via beo 4 ?
There are often the same ir commands in Humax products, especially stb boxes.
You can check ir codes on the Lintronic site.

If you have already ordered a box, just test it, when it`s delivered. If there is a Humax box in the stb list starting with PVR 9...you have a good chance, that your box will also work. And yes you will need an ir cable.
Great fantastic - you have answered my queries! but please can you explain how does the stb ir controller lead work as I wouldve thought if the humax works off one in the list, would this bypass the need for the ir lead please excuse my ignorance I am not a expert on this ....
Hi Jonnie,
Not sure but I think you misunderstand the way the control works. The Beo4 will not control the box - it controls the TV which sends the command using the IR lead to the IR sensor on the box. You tell the TV which command set to send down that IR lead in the STB/PUC menu.
For what it's worth, I have a BC 26 and I use the PUC to control a Humax Foxsat box via an IR blaster lead. I found two of the four Humax boxes in the TV menu worked most of the functions but I did eventually have the PUC list updated to get all of the controls. Oddly, I previously had a Sony Freeview hard disk recorder and none of the Sony command sets worked with that!
I'm sure you can get the PUC updated on a BV 22, if you need to - AVA services at Crawley did it for me for around £50. They also put in the latest command sets for Sky and Apple boxes at the same time. Took around half an hour.
Brilliant yes you are right I did not understand I thought control was controlling the box ! you have made it clear now many thanks and yes after I have tried if doesnt work will contact Crawley branch
