Hi I just bought the software from eBay, But when I loaded on windows 7 - 64bit I get this software look. am I missing a window software to have work right, thanks
I have installed Comdlg32.ocx and Microsoft .NET version 3.5 framework
Based on the image it is as expected.
Regards Keith....
Look at the icon to the right of the string: Configuration Tool - Serial No. at the top of the screen. It has a red cross through it, this means you are lacking the driver and so haven't connected to the remote.
Is it not illegal to sell the configuration tool on eBay?
I would say you should report the seller and reclaim your money.
My B&O products: Beosound 9000, Beosound 2300, Beosound Century, Beolab 8000, Beolab 6000, Beolab 4000 x2, Beolab 3500, Beolab 2000, Beolab 10, Beolink Active x2, Beotime, Beo5 x2, Beo4, A9 keyring x2, LC2 dimmer x6 and growing....
I don't understand why B&O make a software easy free for beo6 or 5, My house is full of B&O products master linked, I use the products from morning to night, but the beo6 remote is the only product I don't use, it sitting there just looks good hoping one day I can take control of it and set it the way I want to. Its should be like an iPad with iTunes.
I am moving to Malta shipping all my stuff over there is no B&O support, That why I bought the CD from ebay, I am a technical person I should be able to finger it out. But it looks it work better on Window XP. I have window 7 - 64bit. I need to try to see why it loading like that. I must have a missing DLL or a missing window driver.
Thanks for your help.
Check to see you have the correct driver loaded - go to Control Panel - Device Manager (in Windows 7). I found that I had the device driver for Beo5 as this came with the Config program. I couldn't find the correct driver so I renamed the existing one changing the 5 in its name to 6. This connected me to the Beo 6, however, I haven't made changes to it yet as I believe this would overwrite the the current configuration on the remote. I haven't the time at the moment to set it up again from scratch.
I also found the wireless connection difficult as Beo 6 works with 802.11g and my router was 802.11n which should had been backwardly compatible with 802.11g but wasn't.
If B&O sold satnavs the way they sold Beo 5/6 remotes you would have to take your satnav to a dealer every time you want to enter a new journey.
Good luck with it all.
