Towards the back end of 2011 there was much speculation and discussion on this forum about the introduction in 2012 of a new more affordable TV (Beovision 11?).
Unless I've missed mention of it recently in which case I apologise in advance, is such a product still likely/possible this year?
Thanks.
Affordable Beovision? An oxymoron if ever I have heard one!
Ever heard of 're-assuringly expensive?'
I did say more affordable, so that qualifies the term somewhat.
There are rumors, speculations, and the odd hint that something along those lines is indeed coming. But until the secret sheep bleat about it, nothing is certain.
Patience. Courage.
We kid because we love.
Isn't that supposed to be the new Beo Play TV ?
afaik there will be a 32" and 40" Beoplay standalone LCD later this year.
Something I still wonder is why they did give up BV8 a year ago. Even without having any successor in the pipeline. In general I do not want a standalone solution - I want an integrated solution (my main reason for B&O)

It's on its way. Spoke with my dealer about it the other day. He says it looks like a product that wouldn't look out of place in an IKEA catalogue - looks a bit like an iMac crossed with a BV10? But it's the next product launch, he claims and he's usually right.
But he did say it's metal framed and not plastic, as we thought it might be.
Says it will be about £2500 and in 32" and 40" sizes.

I guess the reason why they gave up BV8 was, that it didn't sell very well...B&O is known for having models going for years and years -as long as they sell. While other models have been very short-lived. I must say, that I never liked the design of BV8. A cheap looking plastic cabinet is not what you'll expect in that price level. And what's the idea of "bringing depth" to a flatscreen, when everybody else is making them thinner??? Yes I know -to make room for some bigger speakers...but... It sounded better than other flatscreens -but so does the beautiful BV10. And if people really care about the sound, they use extra speakers anyway. I remember when I was at the release of the BV8 at our local dealer. There was certainly not the "wow" effect amongst the audience when it was unveiled, as seen before when new B&O products has been launched.
Sorry; double post......
I was informed that the new Beoplay television will be launched the first week of May.
Any more news available here? Any spy pics? Hints of functions?
I would love to see some good old gossip on this site!
Regards,
Bieele
